Beosound A1 2nd Generation: Bring the beauty everywhere. With True360 omnidirectional sound, A1 2nd Gen retains the excellent sound performance of the current product despite a slimmer design. This time around A1 features AAC and aptX adaptive codecs helping to create the ultimate wireless listening experience. A1 2nd Gen also now features Multipoint, meaning that two devices can be connected to A1 at the same time making sharing the playlist easier than ever. As before, you can easily stereo pair two A1 2nd Gen speakers together to enhance the experience.

The original beautiful shape and soft edges that make A1 so unique are retained, while the classic silhouette has been refined with a modern take. The all-aluminium dome is still light, rigid and protective but now features a more contemporary hole pattern. The feeling of premium modernity is further enhanced by the new logo tag on the strap which now features Bang & Olufsen branding.

TRANSFORMATIVE PLAYTIME A1 2nd Gen delivers up to 18 hours of battery life at typical listening volumes and up to 43 hours at low listening volumes, class leading for a product of its size. Therefore customers will notice a transformational improvement in battery life over the original A1. Battery life information is also vastly improved with earlier LED warning indications of a low battery and a fuel gauge which allows users to more accurately view battery status in the Bang & Olufsen app.

FULLY DUST AND WATERPROOF* The range of environments in which A1 is used is vast and our customers value a product they know will be able handle them. A1 2nd Gen is the first fully dust and waterproof Bang & Olufsen product, certified up to IP67 level. This means that the product is fully impervious to dust or sand particles and is protected against immersion in water up to 1-metre depth for up to 30 minutes. This significantly expands the suitable use cases for A1 2nd Gen, both in and outside the home. *Certification tests take place according to strict criteria. FULLY INTEGRATED ALEXA VOICE ASSISTANT A1 2nd Gen is one of the first to market for a Bluetooth speaker in featuring fully integrated Alexa wake word voice assistant. Far field technology is incorporated meaning that when the product is active, A1 2nd Gen responds to wake word requests (e.g. ‘Alexa’) at a distance of up to 5 meters depending on room conditions. To add extra convenience, the voice assistant will remain active and ready for requests for up to 3 hours after the product has switched off.

SUPERIOR CALL CLARITY A number of improvements have been made to A1 2nd Gen to make it an excellent office companion. It now integrates a 3-microphone array, placed in a more optimal position on top of the product transforming call clarity versus the original A1.

BLUETOOTH 5.1 A1 2nd Gen features the latest Bluetooth codec – 5.1. This codec greatly improves the reliability of Bluetooth connections by being able to determine signal direction and therefore understand the proximity of a device down to a few centimeters. This enables fast connections to A1 2nd Gen whilst also using less energy. In environments with a lot of Bluetooth devices, 5.1 can now select channels at random when connecting, reducing likelihood they will interfere with each other.
